New Developments at WIP
Summer 2007
We are writing to tell you about several exciting developments at WIP.
-
We have retained Patriot Management, an established event planning firm, to support our membership relations, event planning, and communications. Karen Byrnes, co-founder of Patriot, has a background in the institutional investment business and is a supporter of WIP and its mission. Look for e-mails from Karen and Patriot going forward.

We are upgrading our website. The new look will improve our membership’s access to important resources such as networking, career, and mentoring opportunities. We appreciate your patience and your continued dedication to WIP and its programs as we make these necessary improvements.

Shortly, we will be launching an exploratory process to establish formal sponsorships. With the help of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, Lehman Brothers, Northern Trust, and UBS, we have been able to offer some great programs. By establishing a broader and more formal sponsorship arrangement, we hope to further improve our programming and membership offerings. If you are interested to learn more about this, please contact Treasa Moran at 312-525-7260 or Treasa.Moran@ubs.com.

Finally, we think it’s time to recognize women in our field. We are announcing an annual award, “Distinguished Woman Investment Professional”, to recognize a woman from the institutional investment community who exemplifies our vision and values and who has demonstrated exceptional leadership qualities.
We are asking you to join in this process and provide us with nominations. We are requesting your candidates by August 1, 2007 so that we may present the award at our Fall Event. This is your opportunity to highlight someone in our industry who you know, respect, and value. We hope you will enthusiastically join us in this new endeavor. See the details of the nomination process and the nomination form.
Hopefully you have gotten the message that we have a lot going on at WIP. We are excited and energized about our new initiatives. We hope you are as well. As always, many thanks for your continued support.
